Great news! We've just added a whole slew of fantastic vintage wallpaper border rolls to our website with a new section devoted entirely to them. Visit our "Borders" page to browse through all kinds of great florals, geometrics, and other various designs.
Each border roll is at least 12 yards in length, which provides over 100 feet of border. Depending on the number of rows on a roll though, it may even extend to over 200 feet! ~Check each individual border listing for specific details.~
These borders are from the 1930s and 1940s and are not precut. In order to hang them on your wall, you'll need to cut the border out by hand (don't worry, a long straight edge and rotary cutter make this easy work!) and apply a traditional wheat paste to the back.
Borders from the 1940s are colorfast, meaning that the color dye should not bleed when wet with paste or glue. 1930s borders, on the other hand, are not colorfast and are at a greater risk for smudges and smears. This problem is easy to combat though: just apply a quick spray fixative to the front of the border and let dry before use. This will set the color and make working with it quite simple.
Borders can be paired with large dramatic designs, smaller petite patterns, or anything in between. Something unexpected to consider may be pairing a border with a solid or fine graphics wallpaper.
A complimentary border can really set off an otherwise simple vintage wallpaper pattern.

Beyond hanging them on your wall, borders are great for small crafts and other art projects too. There's no limit to the different ways they can be used. We hope you enjoy clicking through our current selection, and remember to keep checking back as our inventory is always changing and expanding.
